St. Paul's Cathedral is located in the prestigious Bankers Hill area, neighboring the lush 1,200 acres of Balboa Park.  The congregation has developed an exciting vision for the redevelopment of its property surrounding the Cathedral, which will help support the Cathedral’s goals and complement the Banker’s Hill community.

CLB Partners is working closely with the St. Paul’s Cathedral congregation to create an exciting mixed-use project that will also provide resources for congregational programs and the ultimate expansion of the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral.  The new community will consist of two buildings designed by the award winning San Diego-based architectural firm of Tucker Sadler Architects.  The buildings, designated as the Olive and Nutmeg sites, are designed to complement the historic Cathedral building and the surrounding neighborhood.  Additionally, the project proposes to rehabilitate the historic Le Moderne Apartments, located next to the Nutmeg Site, for long-term affordable housing.

The Olive Site, situated on the southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Olive Street, will consist of quality condominium homes with office space on the first two levels.  Each residence will enjoy views of the sparkling San Diego Bay or the eucalyptus filled Balboa Park. The first and second floor office space will predominately be utilized by St. Paul's Cathedral for administrative and classroom purposes.

The Nutmeg Site, located at the southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Nutmeg Street, will also offer quality condominium homes above retail and restaurant space on the ground floor along 5th Avenue. These homes will also have breathtaking views of either Balboa Park to the east or the Bay to the west.

Both sites will offer residents fitness centers and outdoor entertainment areas. Extensive underground parking, exceeding city standards, will be included for residents and the office and retail users.  Additional parking will be provided for Cathedral use, improving on-street parking availability in the immediate neighborhood. Finally, the project design includes a landscaped park-like area for both residential and Cathedral use between the Olive Site and St. Paul's Cathedral and enhanced sidewalk features and landscaping along 5th and 6th Avenues in front of both sites.
