One of the many benefits of the redevelopment program is the addition of new off-street parking for Cathedral staff, services and activities.  The proposed project will increase the 23 parking spaces currently located on the site for Cathedral use, to 85 parking spaces.  This is well above the City standard for parking.

Combined, both the Olive and Nutmeg projects will provide more than adequate parking for the new homeowners in the community, which will relieve the demand for on street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.  Parking for the residents (two spaces per unit) will also exceed city standards.

Additionally, as part of the project application to the City, a complete traffic impact study will be completed.  Also, the project design will ensure that safe ingress and egress into building parking areas is provided. The St.Paul’s/CLB Partners partnership is also actively supporting the efforts of the Park West Bankers Hill Association to implement traffic calming improvements near the site along 5th and 6th Avenues.  Development impact fees from the project and other new development in the area should provide funding for these programs.
